EVERYDAY AND PREVENTIVE CARE

General dental treatment for your health and comfort

Many concerns are easier to understand when they are assessed early. General dental treatment may include an examination, a clean, advice about prevention or a plan to repair a tooth. The right appointment depends on your symptoms, dental history and priorities.

SMILE DESIGN AND COSMETIC OPTIONS

Cosmetic dental treatment with a plan that still respects your oral health

If you are considering cosmetic dental treatment to change the colour, shape, spacing or alignment of your teeth, we can discuss options after checking that your teeth and gums are suitable. The aim is to help you understand what may be achievable, what treatment involves and what maintenance may be needed.

A cosmetic consultation is for discussing smile goals and possible options. It is not a substitute for a full examination or any treatment that may be clinically required.

RESTORE OR REPLACE A TOOTH

Advanced dental treatment for restoration and tooth replacement

For a damaged or missing tooth, several approaches may be possible. The right choice depends on the condition of the tooth and surrounding tissues, your bite, your health, your preferences and the long-term care involved.

Keep and restore a tooth

Where a tooth can be retained, options may include a filling, root canal treatment, crown or other restoration. We explain the expected steps and alternatives before treatment.

Plan more complex care

Complex treatment may need staged planning, additional imaging or input from a specialist. If a referral is appropriate, we explain why and help coordinate the next step.

Explore Dental Implants

Enhance Dental offers dental implant assessment and restoration. Implant surgery and restoration are planned for the individual case; suitability cannot be confirmed from a website. A thorough consultation and appropriate imaging are required before a recommendation can be made.

A GOOD EXPERIENCE MATTERS

Dental treatment with comfort and clear explanations

Choosing a dentist is personal. We want you to feel listened to and understand what is happening before you make decisions. Dr Joseph Paino graduated in dentistry from the University of Melbourne in 1988, and Enhance Dental has cared for patients on St Kilda Road since 1995.

If dental visits make you nervous, tell us when you book. We can discuss your concerns, agree on signals or pauses and talk through comfort options such as numbing cream, computer-controlled local anaesthetic delivery with CALAJECT, music or Netflix, extra cushioning and bite support where appropriate.

Digital tools can make discussions more visual. Intraoral photos may help show details of teeth and gums; digital scans can create a 3D model; and dental X-rays are recommended only when clinically appropriate. We explain the purpose of any imaging before proceeding.

Our approach is to explain the findings and choices in everyday language, including the benefits, limitations, risks, likely maintenance and fees. You can take time to consider your options.

SEE HOW TECHNOLOGY SUPPORTS YOUR CARE

Digital tools that support your dental treatment

Technology should help with diagnosis, planning, communication or comfort. It can also make some dental treatment discussions easier to follow. Your dentist will recommend a tool when it is relevant to your care, not simply because it is available.

Digital scanning

A handheld scanner can create a 3D model of your teeth for planning aligners and selected restorations, without a tray of impression material in suitable cases.

CALAJECT computer-controlled dental local anaesthetic system at Enhance Dental

CALAJECT local anaesthetic

Computer-controlled delivery helps the dentist control the flow of local anaesthetic. Numbing cream and other comfort measures can also be discussed.

Intraoral camera and digital X-rays

Close-up images can help you see an area your dentist is discussing. X-rays are taken only when needed to answer a clinical question.

REAL ENHANCE DENTAL PATIENT EXAMPLES

These photographs show individual cases treated at Enhance Dental. They can help you understand the kinds of changes that may be possible, but they do not predict your result. The right treatment and outcome depend on an in-person assessment.

Results vary from person to person. All procedures carry risks, and no result is guaranteed. We will discuss relevant risks, alternatives and expected maintenance with you before treatment. See the full smile gallery for more examples.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

Your dental treatment, planned step by step

1

Tell us what you need

Book online, call or send an enquiry. Let us know if you have pain, a concern about appearance, a damaged tooth or simply want a check-up.

2

Assessment and explanation

Your dentist will ask about your goals and relevant health history, examine the area and explain any images or tests recommended for your situation.

3

Compare suitable options

We will discuss what each option involves, including likely stages, benefits, limitations, risks, costs and what may happen if you wait.

4

Choose your next step

You decide whether to proceed, ask for more information or take time to think. If specialist input is appropriate, we can explain the referral and coordination process.

Before treatment begins, we provide a plan and discuss fees. If you are considering a major restoration, ask whether it may qualify under the practice’s 7 Year Guarantee; eligibility and conditions apply. You can also ask about current payment options.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Dental treatment FAQs

What dental treatments are available at Enhance Dental?

Our services include preventive and general care, fillings, gum care, root canal treatment, crowns and bridges, tooth replacement, cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, children’s dentistry, emergency care and other options. Use the links above to explore specific treatments, or contact us if you are unsure where to start.

How do I know which dental treatment I need?

A dentist needs to assess your teeth, gums and relevant health history before recommending treatment. We will explain what we find and discuss appropriate options; a website or photograph alone cannot confirm a diagnosis.

Will I need dental X-rays?

Not necessarily. X-rays are recommended when they are clinically appropriate to answer a diagnostic question or support planning. Your dentist will explain why an image may help before it is taken.

Can you help if I feel nervous about dental treatment?

Yes. Tell us what worries you so we can plan the visit around your needs. We can discuss numbing cream, local anaesthetic with CALAJECT, breaks, music or Netflix, cushioning and other comfort measures where suitable.

Can I find out the cost before agreeing to treatment?

We discuss the proposed treatment and fees before proceeding. The exact plan and cost depend on examination findings and your chosen option. Ask us to explain any item or stage that is unclear.

Are all treatments completed at the practice?

Many general, cosmetic and restorative treatments are provided at Enhance Dental. Some complex cases may benefit from specialist assessment or treatment elsewhere. If so, we will explain the reason and discuss referral options with you.

Are treatment results guaranteed?

No dental procedure can guarantee a particular clinical result. Outcomes depend on individual factors, healing and ongoing care. Some eligible restorations may be covered by the practice’s 7 Year Guarantee under its stated terms; this does not guarantee biological healing or implant integration.

How can I book an appointment?

Book online, call (03) 9533 8488 or use our appointment enquiry guide. If you are considering cosmetic dentistry or Invisalign, you can also request the relevant consultation.
