How does AcceleDent work?
Acceledent uses very gentle vibrations, up to 8 times softer that an electric toothbrush via a comfortable and safe mouthpiece. The device is used hands-free and is only required for 20 minutes per day whilst wearing your Invisalign clear aligners. The Acceledent uses only 20 grams of force at 30 Hz to produce tiny vibrations or micro-pulses. These micro-pulses are gently transmitted through the mouthpiece to both the upper and lower jaw. These fine vibrations speed up the movement of teeth by helping to increase bone cell activity (osteoclasts and osteoblasts). This allows faster bone remodelling, accelerating tooth movement.
How does AcceleDent speed up Invisalign Treatment up to half the time?
During Invisalign treatment, you would usually change your Invisalign aligners (also known as clear braces) every 2 weeks and they are worn day and night for 22 hours per day. AcceleDent allows you to change to a new set of aligners every 7 to 10 days instead of every 2 weeks. This means if your Invisalign treatment is scheduled for 12 months, AcceleDent could speed up your Invisalign treatment from only 6 to 8 months. Otherwise, if your Invisalign treatment is scheduled for 18 months it could take as little as 9 to 12 months to complete your Invisalign treatment.
Is AcceleDent Safe, Effective and Gentle?
Yes! The AcceleDent system is certainly considered safe and it is also TGA approved by the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration since 2009.
